American Cocker Spaniel |
|
These medium sized friendly dogs were originally bred as a gun dog. Their level of intelligence makes them a good dog to train that is, they are intelligent enough to learn, but not so intelligent that they get easily bored. The American Cocker Spaniel has long floppy ears making it particularly susceptible to ear infections and also eye infections. These silky furred dogs are a more gentle breed and do not do so well with rough-housing. The tails of these outgoing dogs are generally docked. They have a lifespan of around 10years, which is somewhat shorter then most dogs their size.
