The American Crow is a highly intelligent bird this is seen through its use of using tools such as a cup to carry water. These social birds can easily adapt to their environment. Found nesting in natural and man-made habitats it will live anywhere where food and shelter are available. They feed on a large variety of foods including small animals, seeds, fruit, fish and even carrion and garbage when desperate. A mating pair of American Crows will build a nest together, their preference for hidden evergreen branches, and raise their chicks as a family. Chicks up to five years will stay in the nest and aide in raising younger chicks.
