American Redstart
The American Redstart live in moist deciduous forests. Their nests are made from grasses, bark, hair, twigs and mosses, all held together with spider silk. They dine on insects and fruit. The male American Redstart is sometimes polygamous, having two mates at one time. Unlike many polygamous birds nesting in the same territory the redstart holds two separate territories up to 500m apart. The male starts to attract a second mate after the first has completed her clutch and is incubating the eggs. The redstart lays around 1-5eggs per clutch.
