Ash-throated Flycatcher |
|
The Ash-Throated Flycatcher inhabits arid to semi-arid scrub, open woodlands and riparian woodlands. It nests in small cavities in trees or nest boxes, also frequently using man-made structures to nest in. It builds its nest from dry grass, weeds, manure and dried leaves, lining it with hair, feathers and soft plant fibers. Nests have even been found with linings of snakeskin. The Ash-Throated Flycatcher feeds on fruits and arthropods with the occasional small reptile or mammal. It will pluck insects from leaves or off the ground.
