|
The Audubon's Shearwater is approximately 12 inches in length, about half that of the Greater Shearwater. It is adaptable in regards to its preferred marine habitat being found in open waters on and offshore. It also feeds in a variety of ways diving from the sky, plunging underwater and picking its food from the water with its bill while swimming. It eats fish, squid, and crustaceans. When it comes to nesting the Audubon's Shearwater prefers burrows and crevices in rocks. Both parents share the responsibility of incubating the single white egg laid.
