|
Bald eagles are best known as the majestic national bird of the United States. They mainly feed on fish but will also enjoy a meal of smaller mammals, other birds or carcasses. These powerful birds will mainly nest in the tallest tree in their area, building their nest with large sticks and lining them with finer woody or feather materials. Bald eagles generally lay 1-3 eggs at once with their gestation period being around 35 days. They will only breed near large bodies of water. Human beings are the bald eagles' greatest threat.
