Basset Fauve De Bretagne

The Basset Fauve de Bretagne is a short legged hunting breed of dog. They are scent hounds and known to go AWOL when picking up on a scent and following it. Owners of these absent minded dogs must keep a close watch on them and never let them out without a leash due to this fact. Basset Fauve de Bratagnes have a high incidence of road traffic deaths a fact again blamed on their unwavering dedication to following a scent. These shaggy course haired dogs love to be part of the family and are a very affectionate to those they love. They have a median lifespan of 11 years.
