Bay-breasted Warbler |
|
The Bay-Breasted Warbler is a large warbler found to breed in boreal spruce and fir forest. Wintering in lowland tropical forest, this bird feeds on insects and spiders. In the winter, however, it feeds mainly on fruit. Their nest is made of twigs and bark and lined with lichen, spider silk hair and fine grasses. Their nests can be found in the branches of dense spruce trees. This bird finds it food by plucking small insects off the leaves and branches of the trees they live in and around. Budworms are a particular favorite treat of the bay-breasted warbler.
