The Birman is a unique and adorable cat with a round face and sweet-natured expression. It is loyal to its master to the point of dog-like mimicry and it is the most social cat. It has a deep crystalline blue eye color and the eyes are far apart. It comes in four colors that are seal point, blue point, chocolate point, and lilac point. It was first recognized as a breed in 1925. This low-voiced cat, alternatively known as the sacred cat of Burma, matures at a year to a year and four months. The females are exceedingly maternal which is advantageous to the small litter of 3 kittens. It is a slow breed to mature, is kind of uncommon, and there is usually a waiting list to get one, and they are sold at about four months of age for show kittens.
