The mousebird is a collective name given to birds that reside exclusively in sub-Saharan Africa and are similar to parrots and cockatoos. Another name for a mousebird is coly. These birds are miniature, thin, and look like mice with silky smooth hairlike feathers, and they are usually gray or brown, like mice. They often eat food in the upside down position, which is amusing to watch. Their tails are twice the size of their bodies, and they mimic woodpeckers in their tree-broaching abilities. They munch on berries and fruit, and hang out together in groups of a couple dozen. They are social birds, and they have a small nest of 2 to 7 eggs made up of twigs, roots, and fibrous material. They reside in sub-Saharan Africa, and their are only six species of mousebird.
