Also known as the Purple Sugarbird, this bird is found from Southern Mexico, through Latin America to Northern South America. Most are small, about the size of a sparrow. They have long, slender bills adapted to sipping nectar from blossoms. The Yellow-legged Honeyvreeper prefers a diet of fruit, nectar, and insects.
