Noctis: Felias (+ song Serene Hope, orig. composition)

This is a movie made in a game called NoctisIV, or more specifically the NoctisIV Community Edition (shortened usually to NICE). A little exploration on the surface of a planet I discovered. The music is an improvised piece of mine called Serene Hope. An MP3 can be found at http://tindeck.com/audio/my/esvf/serene-hope-pure- even if you arent interested in watching me look around, please tell me how you like the song. About the game: NoctisIV is a free game with no violence, no scripted in-game storyline, and no active characters besides of course yourself. You are a Stardrifter (in a ship of the same name), a lonely space traveler with the task of mapping the stars (and maybe taking a few photographs along the way). In a galaxy of billions of stars, and even more planets circling these stars (all accessible in-game), there is no lack of material. Any planet or star you find, you are free to name, and leave information about it in the Starmap. The focus of the game is discovery; all content is procedural, and thus, each planet has unique features, be they odd landmarks, ruins left behind by the now-gone Felisian race, or odd animals or plant life. There is a little bit of a learning curve, but this can be overcome by doing a simple thing; skim through the manual, which isnt very long (found in the docs folder). The funniest thing about this? Its a DOS game. Despite the limitations of DOS, the developer/programmer created a fun and atmospheric game. The site which contains both versions and the forums is here: http://www.anywherebb.com/postline/index.php?l=D4JeGEdhacS6Srr6NfweDCUh&r=lYUhcug3l3hh9gr6Rtv1flhhT4s6Spx5 The developer is has a fifth Noctis in the works, although the release date is still up in the air, as he only programs in his spare time. This version will be written in his own programming language, l.in.oleum, which will allow it to overcome the limitations of DOS. This is from the surface of a planet (Felias) I discovered in a two-star system I discovered and named Sylveris. While most planets are lifeless, some support plants and various animals, and this planet is one of those. The odd colors during parts of the movie are the different viewing modes available in the NICE version. Also, when the screen gets all shaky, its because of small earthquakes that happen from time to time. :)
